Every tool is read-only. None of them sends anything.

search: Keyword search across every guide, quick answer and news story about UK credit reports and scores, bad credit, borrowing costs, credit cards, debt help and consumer rights.
get_guide: One guide in full: the short answer, key points, every section, common questions and the official sources. Accepts a title, slug or plain description, e.g. "check my credit report", "how long does a CCJ last".
get_answer: A short, sourced answer to a common question about UK credit, debt or borrowing, e.g. "does checking my credit score lower it". Falls back to the closest full guide.
list_topics: The topics PiggyBank covers, each with its guides and links.
latest_news: Recent changes in UK credit, debt and money rules: what happened, whether it is in force or only proposed, what it means and what people can do, with the official source.
check_credit_report: How to see your credit file from all three main UK credit reference agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion), starting with CheckReport, which combines all three in one report, plus the free ways to see each agency’s file.
debt_help: Free, confidential UK debt advice organisations and how to reach them. Use this whenever someone says they are struggling to pay.
piggybank_loan_facts: PB Loans Limited’s own loan exactly as published: amounts, term, representative example, price table and how to quote it fairly. Use only when someone asks about PiggyBank itself.

Give the source page’s link, so people can read the whole guide and the official sources behind it.
If someone is struggling to pay, point them to free debt advice first. The debt_help tool lists the organisations.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no key and no paywall, for both the MCP server and the JSON API.

Which AI tools does it work with?

Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol over HTTP, including Claude, Claude Code, Cursor and Windsurf, and anything that can fetch JSON.

How current is it?

It is generated from the same files as these pages every time the website is published, so the API and the site always say the same thing.

Can an agent apply for a loan or send anything?

No. Everything is read-only and nothing is ever sent. The tools return information and links that a person can follow.

Is this advice?

No. It is general information checked against official UK sources. For advice on a personal situation, the debt_help tool lists free, confidential debt advice services.
