How it works

How a PiggyBank loan works

How we decide

Three things go into every decision.

What comes in. Your income, and how reliable it is.
What goes out. Rent or mortgage, bills, food, travel, and anything else you’re repaying.
What’s coming. Anything you know is changing — hours being cut, a contract ending, a baby due.

We may check your credit file and we may ask for evidence such as bank statements or payslips. That is us making sure your weekly payment still works for you in week nine, not just today.

If the numbers don’t leave you enough room, we’ll tell you. You can always come back another time.

Getting your money

We arrange a time with you first. Nobody turns up unannounced. When we come, we go through the amount, the weekly payment, the number of weeks and the total you’ll pay back — out loud, before anything is signed. You get the paperwork to read and time to read it. If you’d rather think about it, that’s completely fine and we’ll leave without an agreement.

We will never pressure you to take more than you asked for, never offer you something you haven’t requested, and never ask you to sign anything you haven’t read.

Paying back

Ten weekly payments. You get a receipt for every one and you can ask for a statement of your account whenever you like.

If you can’t pay one week, tell us

It is genuinely better for you if we know early. We would far rather rearrange something than have you dread the knock. See support.

Questions people ask

Will applying hurt my credit score?

Checking whether you qualify doesn’t affect your score. If you proceed with a full application, a credit check may be recorded.

Can I pay it off early?

Yes, at any point. You’ll pay less interest and there’s no fee for settling early.

Can I borrow more while I still owe?

No. One loan at a time.

What if I’m not accepted?

It usually means the payments wouldn’t have been affordable on the information we had. It isn’t permanent.

Is the total ever more than you told me?

No. The figure agreed at the start is the figure — there’s no late or missed payment charge added on top.

Who do I talk to if something’s wrong?

01302 410015 or info@pbloans.co.uk. Our complaints process is free.

Is PiggyBank regulated?

Yes. PiggyBank is a trading name of PB Loans Limited, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm reference number 704303. You can check us on the Financial Services Register.
